Accreditation

The BSW program is one of seven accredited BSW programs in the state, however, the only one in the north central region. The program has been continuously accredited since 1974. As the flagship university, WVU attracts many of the brightest and most capable high school graduates.

The MSW program offered by West Virginia University is the only graduate social work program in the state. The program has had continual accreditation since 1942. Though physically based in Morgantown, near the northernmost border of the state, the WVU Division of Social Work has been delivering quality part-time graduate education to place-bound human service workers in this predominantly rural state for almost two decades.
