WVU School of Social Work is now offering a fully online BSW program. This program is specially designed for transfer students who cannot make it to Morgantown, West Virginia for classes. Students in the online program will pay in-state tuition, regardless of their current state residency. This program is offered as a full-time or part-time option with fall admission only. All full-time online students will have up to 15 credit hours per semester, and all part-time online students will have up to 9 credit hours per semester. Some courses will be synchronous, where you'll meet at the scheduled time on Zoom, while others will be asynchronous, allowing you to complete them on your own schedule. You can see a sample degree plan on our catalog page.
Students must complete the WVU Online application for this program. The online and on-campus applications and programs are not interchangeable. Admission requirements for the Online BSW are the same as the On Campus BSW program and can found on the BSW Professional Application page, with one exception: online students must complete an online readiness assessment as part of their Professional Application.
