Online MSW Program

Apply Now!

WVU School of Social Work is now offering a fully online asynchronous MSW program. This program is specially designed for students who cannot make it to Morgantown, WV for classes, as a replacement for our extended campus programs which are phasing out as of Spring 2019. Students in the online program will pay in-state tuition, regardless of their current state residency.

This program is offered as a part-time option with fall admission only . All students  follow the same degree plans as the part-time on-campus program under the Advanced Integrated Practice curriculum. Advanced Standing students wil l complete the degree in 2 years and Regular Standing students will complete the program in 3 years.

Students must complete a separate application specifically for the online program . The online and on-campus applications and programs are not interchangeable. After admission, students will not be permitted to switch programs. Admission requirements for the Online MSW are the same as the On Campus MSW program and can found on the Admissions Requirements page.

However, students can apply to both the on-campus and online programs.  They will complete two applications, pay two $60 fees, and should indicate which option is their preference in their Admissions Essay or in the Addendum portion of the applications.
