Having spent the majority of his professional career in the mental health field, Gerard's research interests directly align with his commitment to improving mental health practices and reducing stigma. He notes that a highlight of the PhD program is the encouragement from faculty to explore diverse educational and professional development opportunities beyond coursework. Looking forward, Gerard plans to continue his work in mental health, leveraging the PhD degree to improve access and effectiveness of mental health services.
