Guiding Ethical Standards
NASW Code of Ethics

ethical principles and professional responsibilities for social workers. This code
emphasizes:

- Dignity and Worth of the Person – Respecting all individuals and promoting self-determination.
- Importance of Human Relationships – Recognizing relationships as central to social work.
- Integrity – Acting in a trustworthy manner.
- Competence – Continuously developing and applying professional skills.
Technology & Ethical Practice
As technology continues to shape the social work field, students also follow the

These standards ensure ethical use of technology in areas such as:
- Online and remote client interactions
- Confidentiality and data security
- Professional boundaries in digital communication
- Ethical decision-making in telehealth and social media
